Nat Wolff
Nat Wolff was a full-fledged Renaissance man before he hit junior high. Currently the co-star of the hit Nickelodeon TV series The Naked Brothers Band", the 13-year-old already has more experience under his belt than most performers three times his age...a movie, two seasons (and counting) of a hit TV show, two hit major label CDs, and several DVD releases. Highly regarded as an actor, songwriter, singer and multi-instrumentalist way beyond his years, the scope of his talents seems to be ever-broadening. His latest endeavor is writing screenplays...in his spare time of course.
Encouraged by his mother (actress/writer/director Polly Draper) and father (jazz musician/bandleader Michael Wolff) to allow his talent to blossom from early childhood, Nat seems to be a 'natural' in the arts. But he is also more serious about his craft and works harder at it than most adults at the top of the profession. Nat has a unique way of bringing both a youthful enthusiasm and innocence as well as an old-soul quality to everything he takes on.
For Nat, music came first and will likely remain his first love. Nat started rocking out on keyboards and other instruments while still in preschool along with his brother Alex and their friends. He also started writing songs and playing small concerts before he was old enough to attend school. His parents claim that when they asked their small sons in the bathtub one night what they wanted to call their pre-school musical outfit, they proudly announced they would be known as "The Naked Brothers Band" and the rest is history-in-the-making.
Nat Wolff is a recipient of a BMI 2007 Cable Award for his original music. He has written over 150 songs, many of which are the soundtrack to "The Naked Brothers Band" TV show. He calls his song "I Don't Want to Go to School", the title track of the second Naked Brothers Band CD being released April 15, 2008, "the most heartfelt song I've ever written".
As an actor, Nat was recently nominated for a Nickelodeon UK Kids Choice Award for Best TV Actor. He's done off-Broadway plays including Getting into Heaven and The Heartbeat of Baghdad. He's also performed at the Improv Comedy Club and at the 2005 New York Underground Comedy Festival. Nat also wrote, directed and produced a short film entitled "Don't Eat Off My Plate" starring his parents.
Nat is an extremely avid Beatles fan, and loves to play basketball.
Alex Wolff
Talented, precocious, influential, adorable, mischievous, witty, hysterical, big-hearted, competitive, and endlessly charming... these are but a few ways to describe Alex Wolff.
TV Star, rock star drummer, actor, singer, musician, songwriter, comedian, pre-pubescent fashion icon, and reluctant student: these are but a few of Alex's current "jobs"...quite a tall order for someone just in elementary school.
Co-star of the Nickelodeon hit TV show "The Naked Brothers Band", Alex Wolff plays "Alex Wolff", the irresistible, loose cannon, bad boy drummer that has quickly endeared himself to kids worldwide as one of the most "real kid" characters on children's television in memory. In real life as on his TV show, he is the kind of kid that's cool and fun in a way that every kid wishes he or she could be.
Alex's acting role in "The Naked Brothers Band" is his first, but it's a part he first started playing when the original Naked Brothers Band movie was filmed when he was only six years old. Whether his character is experiencing heartbreak over unrequited love of an 'older woman', starting his own fashion line, figuring out how he can make 'being a rebel' a profession, or striking bottom as a lemon-lime soda addict on a recovery cruise, Alex Wolff steals the spotlight in any scene in which he appears despite being the youngest member of the cast.
Like older brother Nat, Alex has been a musician as far back as he can remember, encouraged to explore his talents by his actress/writer/director mother Polly Draper and jazz musician/bandleader father Michael Wolff.
Alex's earliest musical endeavor was blowing a saxophone at age two. After discovering a natural talent for playing the drums at the ripe old age of three, he became the drummer in the preschool musical outfit with his older brother Nat and their friends which turned into the phenomenon known today as The Naked Brothers Band.
A drummer that can put more than few adult star drummers on the defensive, he also plays keyboards and guitar. Six of his song compositions have been featured on The Naked Brothers Band show, all of which he also sings lead on.
Alex Wolff is the recipient of the BMI 2007 Cable Award for his music. He also had a cameo in the hit Fall Out Boy music video "The Take over, The Break's Over" in 2007. He's a dedicated skateboarder (who's even gotten tips from Tony Hawk) and has been known to play basketball on two different teams at once.
Alex has always wanted to add "movie star" to the top of his ever-growing resume. He was fine to let "The Naked Brothers Band" be the primary way to showcase his talents for a while. Until the competitive spirit in him learned that a classmate had just scored a role in an upcoming Woody Allen movie. Now he's even more serious and determined to get that movie career thing going as well.
